Pitstop+, London's first and longest running community sexual health clinic for men who have sex with men, is celebrating its 10th anniversary on World AIDS Day, 1 December at the George and Dragon, 2 Blackheath Hill, SE10 8DE from 5-8pm. All are welcome.

The celebratory event will feature Ballroom and Latin Dance fun with Stuart Barrett, and a comedy set from Laura Carr, along with refreshments and cake cutting.

Stuart Barrett and his partner were the top UK Latin American couple in the Gay Games 2010 and ranked 13th in the World. He has also danced with Guyz in Sync who are currently European Samesex Showdance Team Champions and reached the semi-finals in the BBC's Got to Dance programme in 2010.

Laura Carr is a comedian, writer and actress who has performed at some of the top UK comedy venues including the Comedy Store and Up the Creek. She has a cheeky and youthful style and is fast becoming a firm favourite on the comedy circuit.

Based in Greenwich, Pitstop is unique in providing a full community sexual health service for men including STI testing and rapid HIV tests, Hepatitis vaccinations and Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) treatments. Pitstop offers a free, confidential and out of hours service in a warm and non-judgemental environment. Clinics run every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning

Marguerite McLaughlin, Metro CEO said:
Metro is proud of Pitstop+ and its achievements. Over the past 10 years we have provided a much needed service to thousands of men and we continue to see at least 12 men every week at our clinics.

Pitstop was established in response to a real community need and the feedback we get from our users, NHS partners and all the staff and volunteers involved demonstrates the continued demand for this service.

We are grateful to our funders for their continued support and commitment, to our staff and volunteers for their dedication and most of all to the men who come through our doors in the name of better sexual health for themselves and others. Men who access Pitstop are also able to access a range of other integrated services at Metro including counselling, mentoring and peer support
