One year grant for HIV peer support and counselling in Surrey

METRO SPH has been successful in securing an award from Community Foundation for Surrey for £25,000 for one year as part of its COVID-19 phase 2 funding to deliver counselling and peer mentoring to people living with HIV in Surrey. 

The grant will be used to improve the wellbeing and promote the resilience of people living with HIV.
 

Joel Robinson, METRO's Head of HIV, Mental Health & Wellbeing, said, "We're really pleased to have this funding from Community Foundation for Surrey. The pandemic has hit people living with HIV particularly hard, affecting people's mental health strongly. People living with HIV are experiencing increased anxiety, social isolation and poor mental health during this time. This programme will support people to build their resilience and coping skills, reducing social isolation and improving people’s mental health.”
