Today the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on HIV and AIDS launched their report on how to increase and normalise HIV testing across all four nations of the UK.

The report makes recommendations around increasing HIV testing in sexual health services, increasing HIV testing in Primary Care and Accident and Emergency Departments, ensuring tests for people presenting with indicator conditions, and engaging under-represented groups in HIV testing, whilst looking at improving processes and systems.

Andrew Evans, our Deputy CEO, said:

"We welcome and endorse the plan to increase and normalise HIV testing throughout the UK so that everyone can know their HIV status.

"We continue to champion and support the delivery of equitable and easy-to-access HIV testing - especially in community settings. And understand how vital this is to ending HIV transmission by 2030.

"However, testing alone will not end the epidemic, we must also continue to deliver, develop and expand wrap-around holistic care for people living with HIV and support them to get to, and maintain, an undetectable viral load."
